10 Nights
(words and music by Randy Wayne Belt and Brian Kious)
Silver nights - cold rain
No street lights
just a gravel road down a country lane
Ain't been there in a long while
Think it's time to go back
Cows in the field
Broken barns
Now that sounds real
Like a drive through yard
pet dog at your heels
And taking long walks - daydreaming
There's only ten nights in the city
And there aint no room to grow
There's starlight in the middle of the country road
There's only ten nights - only ten nights
Only ten nights in the middle of the country road
I can hear you breathe so well
Down in the leaves
I said honey I do and you know it well
We're taking long walks - and daydreaming
There's only ten nights in the city and there ain't no room to grow
And there's starlight in the middle of the country road
There's only ten nights - only ten nights
Only ten nights in the middle of the country road
Most quiet nights when we're alone
I'm thinkin' 'bout the road back home
There's only ten nights in the city and there ain't no room to grow
And there's starlight in the middle of the country road
There's only ten nights - ten lights
Only ten nights in the middle of the country road
Ten Nights - Tonight - Tonight

Randy is singing the lead vocal, Nil's on drums, Brian's on mandolin. You hear Brian and Randy on hamony and backing vocals.
The big vocal buildup after the second "daydreaming" line was an experiment in 8 part harmony. We got a little crazy with it in the studio
and liked it so we kept it.
