No Breaking Ground
(words by Randall Belt, Music by Randall Belt and Brian Kious)

Here comes the falling out
Don't think I'll wait around
That's the thought I remember

There goes the walls fall down
Left behind's a tiny town
That's the days I remember

ahhhh, ahhhh

Listened to today about
Another place I found
As I weighed my impressions

I thought it not my fate
Why should I have to wait
Making all the concessions

ahhhh, ahhhh

I'm just trying to get me thorough this time
There's No Breaking Ground with you this time
There's No Breaking Ground with you - this time

Here's what I found - No Breaking Ground
Here's what I found - No Breaking Ground

On the ground were broken rings
Didn't know the state of things
That's the thought I remember

Went deaf from quiet screams
Hit by the stone she slings
That's all I remember

ahhhh, ahhhh

Here's what I found - No Breaking Ground
No Breaking Ground - No Breaking Ground
Here's what I found - No Breaking Ground

Song notes:
Randy sings the lead vocal on this one, demonstrating a mastery of a more rock vocal in contrast between the country vocals of the song "10 Nights".  Brian's lead guitar also demonstrating that the band is just as comfortable rocking out as they are playing in the woods with folk instruments.  Nil De Silva's jazz training on drums might not be quite as evident in this track unless you listen close, but he provides just the beat this song needed and is complimented by Randy's more aggressive and melodic approach to bass playing to accent the drums.

This is another song that really came together in the studio once the rhythm tracks were established. Randy plays the rhythm electrics on this song as well as the riffy in-between guitar bits.  On harmony vocals are Randy (middle harmony), Brian (low harmony) and our vocal guest Leann Fisher on the high harmony parts on the "choruses".  The structure of this song is a bit different as well.  Another studio experimentation.
